On March 6th from 8-12, Heyworth Elementary hosted the annual Heyworth Literary Festival. This was a public speaking competition for 5th and 6th grade students from throughout McLean County. This year there were five schools participating: Holy Trinity, Lexington, Blue Ridge, TriValley, and Heyworth. Students entered the contest in up to two events from individual, duet, acting and choral choices. Heyworth Elementary had 40 students in 20 events! A total of over 200 entries from the 5 schools were judged and awarded ribbons for first, second and third places. Great job students! Special thanks to this year's Literary Festival faculty sponsors, Cathy Wentworth and Susan Fox. |
