The HJHS Cheerleading team competed in the IESA Cheerleading State Competition on Saturday, January 21. The team placed 16th out of 30 teams. This was the first year they have ever competed. Great Job Hornets!!!

Eight junior high student-athletes have been nominated by their teachers and coaches for the IESA’s Building Blocks to Success award. These students were chosen based on the way they demonstrate one of the character traits included in the Building Blocks program. The four girls from left to right are: Maddie Thompson (Responsibility), Julia Bobell (Trust), Paige Woods (Fairness), and Devyn McArdle (Respect). The boys (L-R) are: Jackson Bradshaw (Responsibility), Jacob Day (Fairness), Trevor Brooks (Respect), and Aidan Vaughn (Trust). These eight students are now eligible for the Junior High Sportsman of the Year award.
