A message from the Superintendent PDF Print E-mail

I would like to congratulate the 2013 graduates of Heyworth High School. We had a beautiful day for our graduation ceremony on Sunday. It was great to see all of our parents, family and friends come out to celebrate. I would like to echo our graduation speakers and thank our parents, teachers and community members for supporting our students and schools.

As we bring this year to a successful conclusion, we are actively planning next year. I want to give you an update on changes for next year.

Mrs. Hanrahan’s third grade class just finished up their lengthy unit about the tropical rain forests! Students learned about the geography, animals, people, climate, deforestation, foods and products and many more facts about rain forests. To wrap up this fun unit, students performed the story "The Great Kapok Tree" and sang a song for parents. "The Zoo Lady," Mickey Lower, painted faces for the performance! Parents stayed to hear what students knew about the rain forest and to sample foods and drinks from products found in the rain forests.
