HES ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL PROCEDURES
*Main St. is on the north side of the elementary
*School St. is on the east side of the elementary
*Cole St. is on the south side of the elementary
*Joselyn St. is on the west side of the elementary
ARRIVAL
Bus Drop Off
Bus drop off is on Joselyn Street.
Parking in the bus lane is not allowed from 7:00am - 12:30pm, as posted.
Visitor Parking
Visitor parking is allowed on Joselyn Street in a designated area close to the Main Street intersection.
Parking is prohibited in front of the school from 7:45 - 8:30am.
Walkers and Bike Riders
Walkers and Bike Riders need to use the designated crosswalk located at the Cole/Joselyn Street intersection, Main/Joselyn Street intersection, or School/Cole Street intersection.
All walkers and bike riders must use the main entrance to enter the school.
Bike Riders are to use the bike racks next to the school sign.
Car Riders
All car riders are dropped off in the designated area that is located in front of the school on Main Street.
Students are allowed to enter both the HES main entrance and the 5th/6th grade entrance.
Vehicles must drive down to the loading zone when there are no cars in front of them. This is the only designated drop off area for students entering the building and is a drop and go.
Parents remain in their car as students exit from only on the passenger side. Teachers will help get students out of vehicles if they have trouble.
Cars are encouraged to use Main Street when arriving at school. Cars enter in a single line closest to the parking spots. The outside lane is kept open for cars that have dropped off and/or to pass through.
Staff Parking
Staff Only Parking is on School Street and Cole Street. This area is reserved only for Staff.
MID-DAY PRE-K
Buses and Car Riders
The buses pick-up and drop off on Joselyn Street.
Cars are allowed to use the visitor parking.
DISMISSAL
Bus Pick Up
Buses enter on Main Street using the far left lane and line up on School Street.
Students load the buses by exiting the school through the cafeteria doors.
School Street is closed during dismissal. Please do not try and pass a parked bus with the stop sign out.
Visitor’s Parking
Visitor Parking during dismissal is on Joselyn Street.
Parking is not allowed on Main Street from 2:45 - 3:30pm due to student dismissal.
Walkers and Bike Riders
Walkers and bike riders exit the building through the main entrance on Main Street only.
Car Riders
Cars line up in a single file line closest to the parking spots.
Cars take turns picking up students in the loading zone located in front of the 5th/6th grade doors which are east of the main entrance.
Students are allowed to enter a car in the designated loading zone. Staff escort students to the cars and help them in as needed
Parents should refrain from getting out of their cars.
Cars are not allowed to park in front of the school from 2:45 - 3:30pm due to student dismissal.
